City Directories and History: Western York County author and historian, J.L. West, has provided Roots and Recall with numerous articles of interest and scholarly research. The Yorkville Enquirer of June 18, 1902 reported that Mr. J.B. Martin and family will move to Spartanburg today. He has been in Hickory Grove for a number of years. He has large contracts in connection with the building of the cotton mill at Glendale.
