City Directories and History: The Herald reported on March 14, 1896 – “On a recent metting of the stockholdders of the Miliford Mill Co., in Fort Mill. Two members were added to the board, T. M. Hughes, and W. J. Jones. Mr. W. A. Wilson is Pres. and Treasurer, J. W. Ardrey is V.P., and T. M. Hughes is Secretary.”
March 18th 1896 the Herald reported, “Mr. Speight Adams is at home from Fort Mill, where he is working with Mr. Henry Knox, the civil engineer, who is putting in hydrolic wells at the Milfort Mill.”
The Herald reported on Dec. 5, 1896 – Mr. B.D. Springs and family are leaving Fort Mill for Charlotte and have sold their home to Mr. J.W. Ardrey.
