City Directories and History: The Herald reported on May 26, 1881 – “J.J. Hagins and Co., have opened a business greatly needed in Rock Hill, a stove and tin establishment. They will also roofing and guttering. An advertisement in the same issue offered cooking stoves for $12.59 and higher.”
The RH Herald reported on Feb. 16, 1888 – “The Carolina Hotel now has each room connected to the office by an electric bell. Mr. J.J. Hagins installed the system.”
