City Directories and History: The diverse and early history of Rock Hill’s early families and homes was captured by two Rock Hillian’s: Miss Maggie Robinson and William B. White, Jr., who worked together to write a street by street history of the area. The document has been shared by many historians and is available here as a PDF under the More Information Link below the picture column. The paper was originally donated to R&R via the York County Library and later directly from the author.
Please enjoy this structure and all those listed in Roots and Recall. But remember each is private property. So view them from a distance or from a public area such as the sidewalk or public road.
Do you have information to share and preserve? Family, school, church, or other older photos and stories are welcome. Send them digitally through the “Share Your Story” link, so they too might be posted on Roots and Recall.
Thanks!
