City Directories and History: Note that Ann White purchased pork from J.A. Glenn, DDM in 1862, twenty years before he made the following announcement.
TRHH, p.3, C5, 2&3 – “Dr. J.A. Glenn has built a new cottage in western section of the town.”
The Rock Hill Herald contained an ad on May 12, 1881 in which Dr. J.A. Glenn announced – “I have associated with me in the practice of dentistry my brother, Dr. E.F. Glenn, who has just returned from the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery.”
The Rock Hill Herald reported on Jan. 5, 1888 – “Dr. W.E. Black of Laurens has moved to Rock Hill and will form a partnership with Dr. J.A. Glenn in the practice of dentistry. His family will occupy the residence vacated by Mrs. Alston.” Later in the year, Dec. 13, the paper reported – “Dr. J.M. Hunter and wife of the Haile Gold Mine are living in Rock Hill and are boarding with Dr. W.E. Black.”
The Yorkville Enquirer reported on Sept. 5, 1894 – “Dr. E.F. Glenn and family have returned from Gastonia to their old home on Hampton Street.”
