City Directories and History: The Yorkville Enquirer reported on July 5, 1893 reported the Champion Roller Mills with G.L. Riddle as Proprietor have been in operation for about two weeks and are busy grinding grain.
The Yorkville Enquirer reported on Sept. 25, 1895 – “Mr. George L. Riddle of Zeno announces that the Champion Roller Mills have been overhauled and are now prepared to turn out a quality flour. There is no more experienced miller than Mr. Riddle.”
