City Directories and History: The 1896 postal map of York County shows Bowling Green having its own post office.
The Yorkville Enquirer of Feb. 20, 1895 – “In Bowling Green Ms. Maggie Flannagan has resigned as Post Master and Mr. R.C. Jackson has been appointed.”
The Yorkville Enquirer on May 12, 1914 reported the Bowling Green PO will be closed on May 15 and the area will be served by a rural route from Clover with Mr. David M. Ford as carrier.

The Rock Hill Record reported on March 5, 1908 – “The House known as the Hill House, an historic landmark of Bowling Green was destroyed by fire last Sunday afternoon.”
