City Directories and County History: The Rock Hill Record reported on March 12, 1908 – “That buglers made an unsuccessful attempt to blow open the safe of Mr. J.M. Williams in his store in McConnellsville last Friday night. Someone called at the gate of Dr. Love, which may have freighted the burgers away.”
