The Rock Hill Record reported on Sept. 19, 1907 – “Mr. F. D. Williams and family from McConnellsville have moved to Rock Hill and are occupying Prof. J. W. Thomson’s house in Oakland.”
The McElwee Store ledger states that J.W. Thomson lived at this address and was a Prof. at Winthrop College.
The Record reported on April 11, 1927 – “Mr. Ebe. (F. Ebenezer) Grier are moving into S. Reid Spencer residence on Aiken Avenue. The Griers are moving from Due West, he is now the manager of the insurance Dept. of First Trust and Realty Company.”
The Herald reported on Aug. 3, 1930 – “Dr. and Mrs. Boulware will move into the residence on Aiken Ave., formerly occupied by F.E. Grier and family who have move to Greenwood.”
