City Directories and History: The Sharon Presbyterian church was constructed in circa 1927. The church recently (2013) celebrated their 125th anniversary. They were an offshoot of Harmony Pres. Church on Meeting House road near Turkey Creek.
The Yorkville Enquirer reported on Aug. 7, 1889 – “Bethel Presbytery has appointed a commission to organize a church at Sharon Station on the 3C’s Railroad on Aug. 16.”
WU’s Pettus Archives has plans for the church drawn (perhaps improvements only), in 1925 by Rock Hill architect, Mr. A.D. Gilchrist.
