City Directories and History: 1908 – Robert (A.) Morrison
Elm Avenue ran from South Trade Street to what is now South Dave Lyle Blvd., becoming on in the same.
The Herald reported on May 23, 1900 – “The home and lot on Elm Ave., at present occupied by the family of Mr. C.S. May, has been bought by Mrs. Robert Morrison.”
The RH Herald reported March 17, 1916 – “A fire on Thursday night destroyed the restaurant known as the Crystal Cafe on Railroad Ave., operated by S.J. Dalton. The Southern Express Office, next door to the cafe was also damaged and the Williamson Grocery Co., two doors below, suffered smoke damage. The building housing the cafe was owned by Mr. Katie S. Morrison.” Later on the 18th S.J. Dalton has opened a temporary restaurant at 141 Clay Street.”
The Rock Hill Herald reported on April 6, 1916 – “The cars of the Carolina Traction Co., are being put in shape for spring. S.J. Dalton has the contract for repainting them.”
