City Directories and History: 1917 – Main Street Methodist Church, 1936 – West Main Methodist Church, 1975 – Main Street United Methodist
“West” Main Methodist Church was constructed by A.D. Holler on behalf of his wife who wanted a church in which to worship which was closer to their home.
The Rock Hill Herald reported on Oct. 4, 1888 – “The Methodists of the west Rock Hill circuit have bought the Barber House in the Western part of town for a parsonage. They paid $1,000.” Later on Dec. 13, the Herald reported that Rev. J.W. McRoy has moved his family to Rock Hill and are occupying the parsonage.”
