This was originally the lovely home of Capt. and Mrs. A.D. Holler (1840-1919), of Rock Hill. His home was constructed at the top of the hill on West Main Street along with other fine houses that once graced the street scene. Mr. Holler was Rock Hill’s prolific builder of fine home and mills in the late 19th century and well into the early 20th century. Besides his own home he is also credited with constructing numerous houses in Chester County, including his first prior to the Civil War.
A.D. Holler’s construction history is widely hailed on the pages of Roots and Recall in York and Chester Counties.
