The Yorkville Enquirer of Jan. 5, 1882 reported – “Our Post Master in Clover has laid the foundation for a Post Office building on the west side of the railroad North of the Depot and in front of the hotel.”
City Directories and History: This old building was originally the post office for the Town of Clover. It was constructed in 1884 for Josiah I. Gwinn who became the town post master. The building has been moved three times and remains a few of the original architectural features.
