City Directories and History: 1908 – City Pressing Club@ 206 East Main St., 1917 – City Pressing Club
The manager, S.T. Frew as the Manager of the City Pressing Club. In 1915 – 16, the firm had an account with the McElwee Store on East Main Street.
In the McElwee Store ledger, is found the name Arthur Gettys (African American) as a customer but didn’t get any information from the 1914 City Directory. He does appear in the 1920 City Directory as follows: J. Arthur Gettys, wife Jessie, runs a Cleaning & Pressing shop at 211 East Black Street, home in Flint Hill.
