Built about 1875, this home reflects a throwback to the mid
19th century house form with embellishments of Italianate trim and windows. Constructed by Mrs. Julia Rainey in circa 1875, it was later sold in circa 1888 to the family of Mrs. Joseph Lindsay who resided here for many years. Joseph Lindsay was the V.P. of the Chester Building and Loan company as well as the owner of Lindsay Mercantile.
