City Directories and History: Mr. Robert Moore, has lived at this address for many years and continues to maintain his home in much the manner it has been treated for the past fifty years. The property belongs to the family of the late Ira Wooten, who thought so highly of one of his employees, Mr. Moore, that he willed him the right to reside in this home for as long as he desires. Robert Moore is a rural feature of the Lewis Community and a friend to all who know and respect him.
Though the house is not a fine architectural dwelling, it never-the-less represents a profound understanding of the importance many rural farmers placed on maintaining excellent relationships with their tenants and farm hands. The building dates to perhaps the early 1920’s at a time the extended Wooten family were prominent member of the community and well respected farmers. Their land holdings stretched from Lewis Turnout to the southern end of York County along West Chappell road.
*** Google maps does not recognize this address. The house is on the south side of Aaron Burr Rd., across from the historic Lewis Inn at 2743 Aaron Burr Road.

I know the Wooten family as my dad, L.C. Troublefield, sold this family several heating and cooling systems years ago and I serviced their systems every year on our service contracts. This brought back great memories. Thank you, R&R

Have always admired this house and its inhabitant. Immaculate, with wood stacked at the ready. Drive by it on my way to work. Glad to know just a bit more about both. Thanks!
