“It is so easy, a county by county search of some 32,000 historic addresses – sites across S.C.”
R&R offers thousands of historic sites to enjoy searching in numerous South Carolina counties. Use the search block to look for thousands of images, names, locations, home-places, and ancestors. Using R&R search function is made easier when users simplify searches by entering a last name, a street name – without the number or house numbers without the name. Pages are cross referenced in many ways and therefore, if you ask the database for Sam Jones, you may receive dozens of R&R listings each having the name Sam as well as Jones in the page or captions. Keeping it short and simple assists you in finding your information rapidly. Once your search pages load, take a minute to sort through the listings, in the same manner you would use the library’s card files. Every county has over five hundred individual historic sites, thousands of names and thousands of images – enjoy and take your time to explore.
Searches may also be performed by looking for broad titles such as typing in the word “gin.” R&R will provide the user every reference in that specific county’s database for the word gin. Or use words such as: school, church, Baptist, Methodist, store, etc., for best results.
