City Directories and History: 1981 – Norman’s Liquor Store
The 1912 Sanborn Map listed this location as a grocery store. The Masonic Hall was most likely on the second floor of this and the adjacent building. Historically, this was the middle unit of the
Norman Building in which the Norman family operated their liquor store for decades. Prior to the Norman’s acquisition of the building it was known as the Lauderdale and Bryson building. See the 1900 Sanborn map that shows the facility as stone, prior to the brick facade being added.
