Historian Harvey S. Teal’s Post Office Data S.C., states: “William Beckham was the first Postmaster at Beckhamsville Post Office that operated as a PO from 1813 – 1860.” Also, “Wm. Beckham served as the Postmaster of the Rocky Mount Post Office from 1811 – 1813 prior to it becoming Beckhamsville.”
