City Directories and History: This charming late 19th century farmhouse was constructed in circa 1895 on the Boyd farm in the Hopewell Community. Mr. William B. Boyd and his wife resided here together until his death in the 1970’s. The house retains most of its original architectural features and it appears to R&R that the rear kitchen section of the house substantially predates the front.
The Boyd family, William Boyd, Jr., acquired the property from the William Miller family in in 1822. However, originally it has been a grant to Samuel Miller in 1792. [A special thanks to Tom Mayhugh for his invaluable research assistance.]
