City Directories and History: 1908 – L.T. Nichols (Manager of the CNW Railroad), 1940 –William L. Davidson (the 1940 City Directory states Robert Abell resided here) , 1978 – Keith W. Faircloth
The YV Enquirer reported on Dec. 16, 1891 – “Mr. L.T. Nichols is making preparations to eruct a handsome cottage on York Street.”
This home was constructed in circa 1890 and had Victorian embellishments which were later removed to give the house more of a Carpenter style appearance. According to the CCHS, the original Victorian elements were removed in about 1918.
In 1940 the owners of the Ford Motor Co., Abell Motor’s lived here – Mr. Robert E. (Alice) Abell
