City Directories and History: This home was reported to have belonged to the Adams family and constructed in the 1920’s. However, it may have replaced an earlier Adams family home on the same location.
This home is of the style made very popular by Rock Hill architect, Gilchrist, who often repeated this form throughout the upcountry of S.C. The WU Pettus Archives has drawings related to this structure by said architect from March, 1920 proving that he did indeed design this structure for H.S. Adams of Chester, S.C.
