The Yorkville Enquirer reported on Feb. 17, 1870 – “The City Council of Chester have set out a large number of beautiful shade trees on Main Street and extending to the railroad Depot.”

Built about 1930 as a commercial – rental space(s) on Gadsden Street, however an earlier building had occupied the space.
The Rock Hill Record reported on June 25, 1908 – “Mr. Edgar Salter of Newberry was in Rock Hill recently looking for suitable quarters to open up a first class photographic studio. He is now running one in Chester.”
