City Directories and History: The historic Senn house sits handsomely on a rise overlooking the Island Ford Road. Constructed in ca. 1840’s the home retains several of its original mantels, a few paneled doors and original hardware. However, the vast majority of the house has been significantly modernized with new siding, porches, sheet rock and more. The exterior buildings remain intact and are extremely interesting and historically significant.
Owned by Pettus and Charles Senn, the home’s extensive remodeling on the first floor obliterated most of its historic features, with the exception of the lovely matching mantles on the flanking ends of the first floor. The home is well worth restoration efforts and their is ample forensics and decorative materials remaining on the second floor to reasonably rekindle an accurate preservation of the main floor.
