City Directories and History: R.E. Hanna home via SCDAH, 1979 survey. Reportedly constructed in ca. 1886 by local contractor, C.C. “Cam” Davis. This home would have been one of his earlier construction projects in Newberry. Mr. Davis also owned and operated a thriving buildings supply company located near the Newberry Cotton Mill.
Reportedly, “C.C. Davis was a native of North Carolina, who came to Newberry in ca. 1884 to build the Newberry Cotton Mill. He went on to build many well-known residences, public buildings and churches in Newberry between 1884 and 1916.” (Euroluxhome.com)
