The Rock Hill Herald reported on April 20, 1882 – “Mr. S.M. Mathis a dealer in general merchandise in Lancaster has failed.”
The Rock Hill Herald on Sept. 24, 1885 announced – “The flour and grist mill of White and Springs in now in full operation. The machinery was arranged and put into position by Mr. W. Bryant Knight of Lancaster.”
The Lancaster News reported on the death of Edward Chambers Allison on July 11, 1913. Mr. Allison was involved in several businesses including; Cloud and Allison, McCardall and Allison, and the firm of J.P. Allison and E.C. Allison. He attended Franklin Academy School and Eastman College in New York. He was born Aug. 18, 1859.”
