City Directories and History: Reported to have been constructed for Capt. David Milling (born 1797 – 0000). The home is no longer standing but was recorded by the historic survey team in 1983 as they worked throughout the county. They determined the dwelling dated to circa 1830’s, but far more more needs to be conducted to establish an accurate date. Mr. Milling may have migrated from Ireland in the 1820’s and by 1850 had married Sarah Yongue Milling. The house passed ownership to Lorena Milling and her husband James Macfie, who later became Sheriff of Fairfield County.
