City Directories and History: The group surveying historic properties in Fairfield County in 1983 recorded and photographed this historic home. Built by the Harden family in the mid d19th century, this was a very fine plantation home revealing their interest in Greek Revival architecture and their status as well managed farmers. R&R does not know if this home remains standing in 2013, we are however highly thankful that someone took the time to record that it once stood in the Lebanon community of Fairfield County.

I believe this would have been my Great grandmothers home place? Her name was Jessie Leroy Hardin. Her uncle would have been Obadiah Harden of Chester, S.C. If there are any pictures that you can share with me, it would be very helping to me, and to add to my scrap book! Regards, J.M. Lewis
