The Yorkville Enquirer of Jan. 19, 1887 stated – “The R.G. Dunn Agency has reported on business failures in the nation last week. Within S.C. the following were reported: J. Robert Lupo (Monticello0, Fairfield Co.), William Stringfellow (Grocer Chester Co.), and Miles Hunter (Confectioner – Chester Co.), B.B. Owen (Orangeburg, S.C.), W.F. Swarengin (Lancaster Co – Grocer), T.C. Perrin (Druggist – Abbeville), and A. Frieslebin (Drygoods – Spartanburg).”
