City Directories and History: Blair was a very small but important whistle stop for the rural community living along the Broad River in western Fairfield County. What little cotton they grew could be taken to Blair and ginned as well as shipping by rail to markets in Columbia and Charleston, S.C.

The location of the warehouse and gin were ideal for both delivery and shipping of farm goods, finished goods and raw materials needed to sustain the rural lifestyle of the Blair Community. Also see the Blair Store at the approximate same location.
