City Directories and History: Built in the 1920’s by Mr. and Mrs. James Macfie. They reared their daughter here and Mrs. Macfie lived the rest of her life in this house.
Mrs. Ida Lou Macfee was the Principal at Mount Zion Elementary School for over forty years. The house is one of four Sears & Roebuck package homes in Winnsboro. They were shipped by rail in pre-assembled sections and quickly assembled on the owner’s lot and finished. [Contribution by J.M. Lyles, III]
The home in 2016 become the residence of Jason Taylor who is enjoying renovating the historic dwelling and reported to R&R that it remains amazingly an intact structure.
