The Yorkville Enquirer of July 27, 1887 – “There was a severer storm in Winnsboro, lightening hit a tree in the post paster’s yard and the same bolt struck the News and Herald building. The bolt decended the chimney where John Williams and Wyatt M. Propost were at work. Propost was knocked to the floor and is now under treatment.”
