Please enjoy this structure and all those listed in Roots and Recall. But remember each is private property. So view them from a distance or from a public area such as the sidewalk or public road.
Do you have information to share and preserve? Family, school, church, or other older photos and stories are welcome. Send them digitally through the “Share Your Story” link, so they too might be posted on Roots and Recall.
Thanks!

Laura Desportes Bowman says
Hello! I am Laura Desportes, great-granddaughter of the U.G. DesPortes who is listed on the receipt. The photo here of 106 High Street is actually his son’s house, U.G. “Jack” DesPortes and my grandmother Susan Smith (“Sudie”) DesPortes. You have erroneously listed the photo of 108 High Street as their house and that is actually their house that burned down. The house picture here was the one my dad, Ulysse G. “Buddy” DesPortes was born in and which our family regularly visited until my grandmother died in 1980. The website field below is not accepting my website at James Madison University.
