What a delight. It is tagged “Favorite” on my desktop and I plan to visit often. Thanks J.L. Lyles!
As I have written previously, I’m not from the area, but think it’s wonderful that you print these old memories for all of us to see. Even though I was born and raised in Florida, my deep roots are in South Carolina where my people came in 1685. All this happened in the Charleston area where so many others started in this great Nation, and I believe there are many folks who would appreciate your efforts if they were aware it is available. Keep up the wonderful work.
Is the current “Old Camden Road”” basically the same as it was in 1830 when deeds cited the “Camden Road” ?
I do not know the answer to your question but will pass it on to a knowledgeable researcher.
R&R
I’ve found some interesting places and history on Roots and Recall, which I would like to share with my family and friends in Fairfield County, but cannot find them in the photos on Facebook. One, in particular, is my uncle’s home which burned in the 80’s, I believe. His wife built another home on the same site and remains there today. I guess I should recommend your page to them if I am unable to share those particular photos? I will search again for the photos, but I am sure they are not there. I love the site and hope to contribute something soon.
Many images displayed in the site are restricted but if you tell us which one you are looking for, perhaps we can assist?
