“Explore and preserve S.C. history, historic houses, & family stories…”
Communication with members and users is a vital component of R&R’s desire to preserve South Carolina history. The positive reception received by the website is an endorsement of its need and validity; staying connected is therefore paramount. Currently the website offers several avenues for everyone to connect: the comments section, the R&R blog – From the Porch, two Facebook sites, and memberships. Contact information is also posted for users who wish to offer advice, corrections, and express their gratitude. And yes, we do receive corrections! They are viewed as Badges of Honor, a means to perpetuate R&R’s reputation for accuracy. Input tells us you care!
So, R&R makes ample efforts to stay connected to individuals who cherish abandoned buildings, historic images, local heritage, and family collections. However, exhibiting treasured images across the website is only scratching the surface of what R&R offers. Page content and blogs go deeper, linking the threads and stories which create an understanding of people, events, and their changing expectations. Linking the threads across S.C. is daunting but so rewarding. Your membership would enhance R&R’s ability to foster additional research, history threads, and preservation of local and family memorabilia.

A membership is also the best means of staying connected – so design your own! We will periodically send articles on Carolina Vernacular architecture and more, but your membership allows you to design your own sphere of interests. Become a member and allow R&R to connect you to S.C. history as you wish. Memberships include the items previously mentioned but also the ability to (1) designate specific geographic areas of the Palmetto state that most interest you, (2) bookmark your favorite R&R pages, and (3) select pages you want to receive notifications on when content is enhanced. So take a minute and log in to R&R and build your specific membership specifications: Login/Sign In *** It is imperative that you add both info@rootsandrecall.com & rootsandrecall@gmail.com to your email contact list, otherwise communications might be interrupted!

Your support of RootsandRecall.com is very important. In January of 2017, the website provided over 31,500 pages of free content to users. Just think what could be accomplished for statewide preservation efforts if each user became a subscribing member and gave a small donation annually? We sincerely hope you take time to look a little deeper and become a member.
