City Directories and History: The Epiphany Episcopal Church was constructed in 1887 by Frank Springs, an outreach of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. Note the church was architecturally constructed to feature Gothic Revival barge-board fretwork around the cornices and building’s edges.
This style was promoted as an appropriate design for rural settings, with its complex and irregular shapes and forms fitting well into the natural landscape.
