City Directories and History: “The “gray house” located on East Florida Street in Clinton received its name from the color of the paint on the exterior. Little is known of the history of the house, but it does command the attention of passersby because of the unique architectural details. A portion of the siding on the front is upright, the windows are odd sizes and the chimneys are in the center of the house.
The house was moved from its original location by Joe Leake when he built a home for his family on the site.”
