City Directories and History: This antebellum home, suggested to have been constructed in ca. 1850s, associated with H. W. Clayton (1835 – 1909), and Mary Gilbert. Note the striking similarity in style to that of the Koger House also on Wire Road.
R&R Note: In 2017 this home is being updated with new siding, windows and roofing. It appears from superficial examination from the available images, this house predates the random 1850s date suggested by the survey team. This house needs thorough forensic examination to determine its age and structural development.
