Manning Hardware Archives - Clarendon County

City Directories and History: The historic Lenard Building or Manning Hardware Company was built in 1915 or earlier. Mr. E.S. Ervin operated the hardware company.

The Manning Times reported on Jan. 5, 1916 – “Work has commenced on a building next to the Manning Hardware Co., which will be occupied by the Clarendon Motor Company.”

Saving Historic Collections

R&R's pages are built one at a time, through the volunteer efforts of individuals who love sharing local images, stories and history. There is someone in every community who cherishes these and has saved memorabilia worthy of exhibition on R&R's pages. We hope you will encourage them to become regular contributors. We also welcome partnerships with local historical societies, genealogists, and museums to display their cultural material on the website.

Estate attorneys have also become fond of R&R's service -- assisting in preserving family records and images that may otherwise be discarded. If you know of records in jeopardy, contact R&R at rootsandrecdall@gmail.com, and provide data on how our services can assist. R&R will scan the collection and deposit it at the appropriate -- permanent archival facility.

In some cases, R&R will also "consider" the purchase of City Directories, historic images, and manuscripts for preservation!
