City Directories and History: The historic Mt. Tabor Methodist Church constructed in 1878.
Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church, West Boulevard, at corner of Academy Street. This is a small frame meeting house church, built ca. 1878. The building features an off-center staged tower on its facade with a tall pyramidal tower roof capped by a metal finial. The original bell has been removed from the belfry but remains on the church grounds. The church is sheathed in weatherboard and has a gable roof covered with composition shingles.
