City Directories and History: The Stono Phosphate Company was located at the Vanderhorst’s Wharf and included the following associates: William Ravenel, Pres., Robert M. Means, Sec. Treasurer, C.H. Simonton, R.W. Gourdin, A. Sydney Smith, Robert D. Mure, A.S. Johnson, W.K. Ryan, and George E. Gibbes.
