City Directories and History: 1925 – UN, 1941 – UN, 1964 – Willie O. Hinson
This building first appears on the 1930 Sanborn Fire Insurance Map of Camden, indicating that it was constructed some time before that date and after the publication of the previous map prepared in 1923. The first documented residents, in 1925, were Barnett E. Sparrow, Kershaw county auditor, and his wife Beatrice. Toward the end of the historic period in 1941, the building was occupied by Franklin C. Hinson, a track foreman for the Southern Railway Company, and his wife Lula. [Camden Archives and Museum]

Please enjoy this structure and all those listed in Roots and Recall. But remember each is private property. So view them from a distance or from a public area such as the sidewalk or public road.
Do you have information to share and preserve? Family, school, church, or other older photos and stories are welcome. Send them digitally through the “Share Your Story” link, so they too might be posted on Roots and Recall.
