City Directories and History: 1913 – J.K. Lang, 1925 – J.K. Lang, 1941 – Camden High School (Laurens Street) , 1964 – Nezzie R. Jordan
Architectural evidence, based on comparisons with buildings of similar design, indicates that it was constructed about 1885. The first documented residents, in 1914, were J. Kershaw Lang, manager of Lang’s High Grade Grocery, and his wife Daisy T. Toward the end of the historic period in 1941, the house was owned by William R. Watkins, a meat cutter for the local A&P Grocery Store, and his wife Kate. [Camden Archives and Museum]
The address also applies roughly to that of the Camden High School which was facing the home.
