This is one of Camden’s oldest commercial block built in circa 1884.
In 1916 the local paper reported on flooding, “The newspaper reported that the “old Southern Railway depot south of Camden was several feet deep in water,” and only the roofs of a residence and A. M. Christmas grocery store “near the depot creek” were visible above the water.” (Information courtesy of A History of Kershaw County, S.C. by Joan A. Inabinet and L.
