working to preserve these historic buildings since 2009. In 2016, a new owner took title to the property in the hope of saving and preserving the local Anderson African – American heritage of architecture and culture. Herman Keith, the owner is exited with the prospects of working with the Palmetto Trust and the Anderson Board of Historic Review to see that these dwellings are make usable for generations, as a center for local arts and cultural studies. The Electric City News stated on Nov. 2, 2016 – “Keith’s mission is to preserve and restore the four cabins as an important aspect of African – American history.”

In Nov. 2016, R&R was asked to take a first walk through of the properties and did so with local preservationists and Mr. Keith. Toward the end of the month, we hope to return when substancial removed of debris and 20th century architectural elements are scheduled to have been removed. This will allow R&R to expose the architectural forensics of the historic buildings in detail to help asertain their construction date and heritage.
