This Georgian style home is a non-contributing property within the historic district. Known locally as the O’Donnell House, it was a turn of the century dwelling that went through a complete update in the mid 1930s. The O’Donnell family was a prominent family of the Catholic faith. “Mother O’Donnell” operated a downtown tavern. Anderson’s first kindergarten was operated on this premises by one of the O’Donnell’s daughter. The house passed out of the O’Donnell family in 1979.
Ms. Jo Budd O’Donnell was John B. Buice’s first grade teacher. She was a tall lovely blonde lady, who wore handsome tweed and was always a delightful person.…(Memories of M.B. Fairey – 1988)
