Location of the Southern Railway Passenger and Freight Depots – 1908 (Cemetery Street)
The Rock Hill Herald reported on May 26, 1887 – “The RR Company “Chester and Lenoir” has located their depot at the rear of the Rose Hill Cemetery in Yorkville. The passenger depot will be on lands owned by J.L. Watson and the freight depot on land of Green McAfee and the cotton platforms on land of R.J. Withers.”

The list of individuals living in the 1907 York City Directory was not identified as living at any particular house number. When possible the individuals are listed per their known address.
The Yorkville Enquirer contained an ad for Oct. 27, 1905 for the Yorkville Monument Works, W. Brown Wylie, Sec – Treasurer.
The Fort Mill Times contained an ad on Aug. 4, 1910 – Yorkville Monument Works, John E. Carroll – Pres. & Treas.
The Fort Mill Times on Jan. 19, 1911 carried an ad for the Yorkville Monument Works, John E. Carroll, Pres and Treasurer. It stated, “We have several thousand dollars of finished marble and granite monument in our yard.”
