City Directories and History: 1925 – Smith and Marshall Furniture Company
The Herald reported on May 23, 1925 – “A new furniture store will open June 1. Smith – Marshall furniture company will be at the corner of Oakland Ave., and Trade in the building formerly known as Angle House. E. Smith and F.D. Marshall, both of whom were with NuGrape Bottling Plant are partner. They will handle furniture and musical instruments.”
WU’s Pettus Archives has a plan for F.D. Marshall dated Feb. 1930, a design by Rock Hill architect, A.D. Gilchrist.
