“It is so easy, a county by county search of some 32,000 historic addresses – sites across S.C.”
R&R offers thousands of historic sites to enjoy searching in numerous South Carolina counties. Use the search block to look for thousands of images, names, locations, home-places, and ancestors. Using R&R search function is made easier when users simplify searches by entering a last name, a street name – without the number or house numbers without the name. Pages are cross referenced in many ways and therefore, if you ask the database for Sam Jones, you may receive dozens of R&R listings each having the name Sam as well as Jones in the page or captions. Keeping it short and simple assists you in finding your information rapidly. Once your search pages load, take a minute to sort through the listings, in the same manner you would use the library’s card files. Every county has over five hundred individual historic sites, thousands of names and thousands of images – enjoy and take your time to explore.
Searches may also be performed by looking for broad titles such as typing in the word “gin.” R&R will provide the user every reference in that specific county’s database for the word gin. Or use words such as: school, church, Baptist, Methodist, store, etc., for best results.

How much do you want? I now have over 75,000 names in my database. All are either kin or kin to kin. I used to print out the family group sheets and proofs. When I got to 34 notebooks, I quit. Now my info is on a flash and external hard drive plus my cousin puts it in dropbox if I get too gar behind. The families are Williams, Truesdale, Cauthen, Brasington,Hotchkiss, Horton, Hough, rush, Young and all allied families of them. The majority are Kershaw County families. The Williams, Truesdale and Hotkiss all lived in York County
My ancestor Thomas Russell lived and married in York County. He married Tabitha Jenkins on 2 December 1784. The ceremony was officiated by James Willson, Esquire. Can you help me gather any more information?
Do you have information on where they are buried, lived, etc?
I am a descendent of Agnes Caroline Getty’s, and have just about all of my Getty’s family history, but—- I have a complete blank on the man she married in 1852, William Polk Huston was her husband and they came to Mississippi with a large wagon train. William Polk Huston was born in York County in 1825; and had a brother, Thomas and a sister, Elizabeth “Betsy “ who came to Ms. with them. I need to know who his parents were and where they lived. I have a page from an old schoolbook he had, listing that he was born in Indian land, Coats Tavern in York county. His family is some kin to the Polk family. CAN ANYONE HELP ME???? Susan Davis. Thanks
ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATEC. I AM COMPLETELY BLANK ON HIS FAMILY. THANKS, SUSAN DAVIS
Hi, I was sitting here at my desk with Mr. Gettys when your request came to my attention. Did you not correspond with him last year? We are happy to assist you. Regards, W.B. Fairey
